Walton businesses have united to launch a website today (Wednesday).
Walton Business Group (WBG), run by local businesses for local businesses, has a number of projects planned to help them survive in the face of recession.
It has worked with one of its members, Walton-based web expert Paul James, to build the site, www.walton-businessgroup.co.uk, which is aimed at the public as well as providing members with business opportunities.
WBG director, Sarah-Jane Shellard, said: "Each member gets their own page to promote their products and services as well as listing key information such as contact details and opening times.
"Members also have access to an online forum to encourage discussion on key business issues."
The group is holding a networking event on Wednesday, November 12, at The Plough pub, in Ashley Road, Walton, to give local business people the chance to meet one another and hear a short, informative talk.
This month's guest speaker is Neil Snowball, head of sport policy and operations for London 2012, who will be talking about his role in the Olympic Games and how Walton businesses can get involved in London 2012.
