CAN I offer, through your newspaper, my congratulations to Councillor Denise Saliagopoulous, who has been re-elected as Surrey County councillor for Staines.
In the past, Denise has worked hard to support the people in Staines, both young people and those who are greater in years.
Her diverse achievements include the Staines Youth Cafe, funding for road maintenance, funding for sports facilities which can be used by the entire community and funding for the daybreak centre, which is used so that carers can have a break.
Staines Police have also received funding to enable an increased presence where it is most needed. All great achievements by Denise for the people of Staines.
The latest gain has been the securing of funding in order to have three controlled parking zones in Staines town centre, which will ensure that the residents will be able to park in their own streets, something which has been difficult in the past due to the number of non-resident cars parking in the streets, often for days at a time.
I look forward to Cllr Saliagopoulous working on behalf of the residents of Staines for the next four years and I offer my support to her and her fellow councillors.
