Put your heart into a new plan

I HAVE just signed the British Heart Foundation's petition demanding a clear plan for tackling heart and circulatory conditions in England over the next 10 years and I would like your help to encourage other readers

to do the same. The current plan to improve care and treatment has significantly helped reduce the number of deaths from heart disease, but it was designed as a 10-year work programme - and it is almost at the end of its shelf-life.

Heart and circulatory disease is the UK's biggest killer, claiming the lives of around 200,000 people each year in the UK. There are more than two million heart patients living in England alone and, with no published plan to replace it, there's a danger that the opportunity to build on the good work done so far will be lost.

Heart patients deserve better. Please support this campaign and sign the BHF petition at www.newheartplan.org.uk
