Thomas Barlow
A convicted burglar and car thief from Ashford is back behind bars after failing to attend compulsory probation meetings.
Thomas Barlow, of Beards Road, Ashford, was jailed for four years in 2005 for offences including burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, criminal damage, driving whilst disqualified and two counts of obstructing a police constable.
But the 27-year-old was let out on early release from Wandsworth Prison in March last year only to disappear on two occasions in as many months. It led police to put out a public appeal for information into his whereabouts this week.
Then, at lunchtime today (Thursday January 8), a police spokesman confirmed Barlow had handed himself in at Sutton Police Station, adding: "He is now back in prison at Highdown."
Barlow - who has links with Staines, Sunbury and Stanwell and has a tattoo on his left hand - previously went missing in October before handing himself in at Staines police station.
Detective Sergeant Jon Hillard, from the North Surrey Police prolific and priority offenders unit, had urged the public not to approach Barlow but to contact Surrey Police immediately if anyone saw him.
