Surreal artist to unveil latest work in Ashford

Edwin Cripps art

Artist Edwin Cripps takes the wraps off his latest masterpiece this weekend when Ashford Art Club holds its spring exhibition.

His surrealistic pictures are always the highlight of the group's shows and his new effort, Elvis Has Just Left The Lido, is likely to be no exception.

The Bedfont-based artist, who launched his own range of painting materials at the end of last year, specialises in intricately-detailed pictures of make-believe worlds inhabited by bizarre creatures.

Alongside his work will be other members' more conventional pictures, in all styles, many of them showing local views and almost all for sale.

The exhibition is being staged at St David's School in Church Road, Ashford, from 10am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday. (April 25 and 26)

Admission is free.
