OLYMPIC rower Andy Tridds-Hodge appeared at an opening ceremony at Ashford Hospital on Thursday April 16.
The Molesey Boat Club rower opened the refurbished physiotherapy hydrotherapy pool and met a number of the physiotherapists and patients.
The pool is used for a number of types of patients, including ones recovering from orthopaedic operations and ones suffering from joint stiffness.
Alan Jenkins suffered from a shoulder injury last year and part of his rehabilitation included sessions in the pool.
He said: "The pool therapy was very successful in helping my recovery. It took eight months to recover but I received first class treatment at the hospital and I am back to work soon. All hospitals should have a pool like this."
The pool is also used for young patients with neurological conditions where the weightlessness of the body in water enables to do exercise freely.
