THOUSANDS of pounds worth of laptops and phones were stolen from a business in Sunbury and police are looking for witnesses.
Two burglars drove to the business, in Hanworth Road, in a white transit van and broke in by forcing open a metal door and then smashing into a security cage and stealing a large number of laptops and mobile phones, before driving off.
Insurers are offering a "substantial" reward for any information that leads to the arrest and successful conviction of the thieves, who struck on Sunday April 12 at about 1pm.
Detective Constable Brett Harris, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was clearly a carefully planned burglary where the offenders have stolen a substantial amount of high value property.
“I believe it is highly likely there were several offenders involved in the theft due to the volume of items taken. The fact the offenders carried out this burglary in broad daylight shows they were willing to take great risks to get the property they were after.
“I am very keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and heard or saw anything suspicious, particularly any members of the public who saw the white van used by the suspects and the direction it was travelling in."
*Anyone who witnessed the incident or with any information regarding the burglary should call Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222, quoting reference SL/09/2956, or call Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
