Police are investigating an altercation in Long Lane, Stanwell
A Stanwell councillor says she witnessed a woman motorist deliberately drive at a man following a fight between two groups.
Cllr Marian Rough said she "couldn't believe [her] eyes" at seeing the an incident in Long Lane, Stanwell, at about 7.20pm on Saturday May 23, while she was canvassing with Conservative candidate for Surrey County Council, Joshua Jogo.
Cllr Rough said: "The man went into the air about three feet and then smashed through the windscreen. But he got up and smashed the rest of the windows himself. I couldn't believe my eyes."
Mr Jogo said: "It looked like one of the ladies and a man had a disagreement which resulted in a fight. It looked to me like an attempted murder, and it was crazy, because they almost actually hit my car. Marian tried to mediate between the two groups and almost got hurt herself."
About 15 people including children are said to have witnessed the fracas.
Surrey Police received a number of calls reporting an altercation following a collision between a silver BMW and a blue Peugeot 206.
A spokesman said: "Following the collision a verbal altercation between the drivers of both vehicles is believed to have ensued. A black Jeep Cherokee has then stopped in the area and the occupant of this vehicle has joined in a physical confrontation between all three men.
"The Jeep is believed to have sustained some minor damage and one of the men involved is also believed to have sustained minor injuries. Officers attended the scene but the individuals involved had left the area and at this stage no formal allegations or offences have been reported to police in connection with this incident."
