Mayor attends Greeno Centre celebrations

THE Greeno Day Centre in Shepperton has celebrated its 20th anniversary in the company of Spelthore Mayor, Councillor Simon Bhadye.
Staff at the centre, in Glebeland Gardens, laid on a real show and some 90 members were invited to join in the celebrations.
A brass band greeted them on their arrival, before they settled down to a carvery lunch and some afternoon revelry in the company of entertainer Dave Mac.
Centre manager Vanessa Welch reported the guests had a superb afternoon, saying: "It was absolutely fantastic, a brilliant day. They absolutely love Dave Mac – he gets them all up singing and dancing and he rounded off the day brilliantly."
The Greeno Centre is a vital base for elderly people to gather and socialise and it provides a number of services, like hair dressing and catering.
Ms Welch added: "It's such a nice atmosphere here and it's great because it gets elderly people out and about and meeting and greeting.
"Here's to another 20 years."
