FUTURE Olympic hopefuls were on show at the Egham Centenial Regatta on Sunday.
The event, which has been running since 1909, has a proud history of setting young rowers on their way to stardom.
Mike Hart, who won silver in the 1976 Montreal Olympics, and Elise Laverick, who landed bronze at Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008, both won their first ever rowing trophies at Egham.
Two of last year’s Olympians, Alan Campbell and Sarah Winckless, were also on hand to help dish out the prizes.
Around 200 crews of young rowers took part, rowing on the stretch of the Thames near Runnymede Pleasure Ground and Bell Weir Lock.
Since 1978, it has been the only regatta in the country which offers rowing, skiffing and punting.
