Egham has lost its crown as the 'spam email capital' of the UK.

A survey taken last year revealed that Egham businesses received more spam than any other town in the UK, receiving on average 190 spam emails per day.

But in this year's poll by email service company, MessageLabs, Egham had dropped to 14th place.

This year's spam capital was announced as Alton in Hampshire where business users were sent on average a whopping 397 spam emails daily.
