Vicki and Ed try some spooky treats for Hallowe’en.
Ed writes: What goes around comes around. That’s basically what karma is and I’ve had a big fat dose of it this week.
Don’t worry, my Hallowe’en surprise was not a night out with Glenn Hoddle and Eileen Drury but I do believe cupid has come down hard on me as punishment for last week’s exploits.
If you don’t remember – or more likely don’t hang on my every word – I stood a girl up on a date last week. No good reason – just pure fear/disinterest.
So this week I was keen to make a better fist of things and really get into the Hallowe’en spirit in the hope something ghoulish might come of it.
I arranged to go on a ghost walk through the depths of London with my date Lily and was looking forward to a welcome departure for the drink, dinner, dance combo that plagues the dating world.
But, after leaving work a little late, I found myself at the back of a three mile, karma-induced tailback that left me a long way from the east end of London.
As time ticked away I thought the gods – most likely with a human female sidekick – had conspired to create a minor accident to scupper my date.
I was stuck for hours before I passed the minor prang and I was forced to cancel, leaving Lily not best pleased.
I think I’ve missed out on this girl for now but I now know Glenn and Eileen were onto something. I also know that if I’ve done something bad to keep an eye out for a burly fella driving a white Ford Transit and an old lady in Vauxhall Corsa.
Karma will come back around and those two are bound to play a part again.

Vicki writes: I headed to Fright Night at Thorpe Park. Wasn't it a perfect chance to get closer to ‘S?’
As soon as we got into the parkhe turned into an exciteable kid.
He marched me off to Stealth, telling me he would drag me on it if he had to because I was just being a scaredy cat!
‘S’ is a proper adrenaline junkie and made me see the better side of being shot up in the air at high speeds.
He said: " I want you to come on it with me because I don’t want you to leave here and regret it."
Sweet! But luckily for me it was broken down due to the icy weather.
It was a fun night and when we will never forget, considering Nemesis Inferno broke down half way up the ramp and we were left dangling and cold for 10 minutes while it got fixed.
‘S’ made me feel better and we both saw the funny side of the mishap.
The Asylum Maze was like something out of Resident Evil and it gave me the perfect excuse to huddle up close as he protected me from the zombies.
I screamed the place down and I don’t think he was too impressed when at one point I practically jumped on him to get away from a female zombie stroking my ear!
Theme parks always bring out the child in you and ‘S’ and I were definitely like two exciteable children.
Afterwards we headed for a late dinner at Carluccio's in Walton and then he dropped me home.
It wasn't until the weekend though that I soon realised he did just want to be ‘friends’ after all.
I invited him to a fancy dress Hallowe'en party in London with me. He didn't come.
