Parents and pupils, past and present, met at Roslin Nursery School in Staines to say farewell to teacher Eileen Brewer, who is retiring after 17 years.
More than 40 guests attended the party at the nursery in Rookery Road on Thursday, the day before she left.
Eileen, 69, of Rex Avenue, Ashford, was delighted to see so many familiar faces at her farewell.
She said: "It was lovely seeing so many old pupils and to find out what they are doing in life.
"The farewell was emotional because I have lots of fond memories of the school. I didn't want to let go and I was very sorry to leave but I felt the time had come for me to stop."
Mrs Brewer plans to pay more attention to her garden once she is retired and head of the nursery, Lesley Whittle, wished her well for the future. She said: "She is a very special lady and gave so much love and care to the children."
