An exotic fairytale which has never failed to intrigue music lovers is one of the treats being brought to the New Victoria Theatre, in Woking, from Tuesday, November 4 to Saturday, November 8.
The internationally-famous Glyndebourne on Tour is presenting The Magic Flute, a vibrant, colourful and enthralling production of Mozart's final masterpiece.
The remarkable fairytale of the quest for love and enlightenment, with comic elements, opens a varied repertoire from the company when it is staged with lavish costumes on Tuesday, November 4 and Thursday, November 6.
Bizet's passionate opera Carmen makes a welcome return to the tour on Wednesday, November 5 and Saturday, November 8 with the heart-rending story of corruption, jealousy and obsession staged with exhilarating effect by David McVicar.
For one performance only, Glyndebourne is performing Humperdinck's richly orchestrated Hansel and Gretel on Friday, November 7 in a work which combines romanticism, memorable lyrics and exuberant playfulness.
All three operas are sung in their original language with English subtitles projected above the stage at each performance.
