Auditions open for Shakespeare comedy

Auditions are coming up in January 2009 for Surrey Youth Theatre's (SYT) full-scale production of Shakespeare's comedy, As You Like It, which will be staged at Guildford's Electric Theatre in July.

Enthusiastic and committed young actors from all over Surrey will compete for the chance to play some of the Bard's most famous characters.

SYT's production will explore the gender politics, loves and hates featured in the original Shakespeare play.

Set initially in a 1930s Hollywood glossy ducal palace, the location moves to the quaint and quirky imaginary countryside of Arden, where deer leap and lionesses pounce.

SYT is looking for actors aged 13-21 wanting to use their talents in acting, singing, dance and music.
