Egham clinch division two title

SURREY CHAMPIONSHIP, DIVISION THREE Cranleigh.....................73 all out Egham..................................74-5 Egham won by five wickets

Egham beat relegated Cranleigh as well as the dismal weather to clinch the Surrey Championship Division Three title.

While almost all the other fixtures fell victim to the weather, Mark Watmore's men chalked up their fifth-straight victory to clinch a place in Division Two next season.

After dismissing their hosts for just 73, Egham had to endure a lengthly delay before they were eventually take to the crease at 5.10pm.

But the downpour meant Egham had just 20 overs to claim victory - and the title. The Vicarage Road side lost five overs in the run-chase before Aussie Joel Boucher led them home with an unbeaten 46 to see his side to victory in the 17th over. Egham had put Cranleigh into bat, and took just 36 overs to skittle them out. Dave Morris' 3-11 was the pick of Egham's bowling attack.
