Ryman Premier Staines Town.................1 Harrow Borough............0
Staines bounced back from Wednesday's defeat at Horsham with two victories in three days to propel them into the Ryman Premier play-off places.
First, Steve Cordery's boys won 2-1 at Tonbridge Angels. Then, the Swans edged past Harrow Borough 48 hours later.
Cords had to do without Gareth Risbridger for Monday's clash with Harrow at Wheatsheaf Park after the midfielder was left on crutches with a knee injury following the victory in Kent.
The Swans again included former QPR hitman Leroy Griffiths in the side after he put pen to paper on Friday, but it was Elliot Onochie who proved to be the matchwinner.
Onochie met Griffith's pinpoint cross 20 minutes into the second half to powerfully head home the only goal of the game.
He was also the star on Saturday at Tonbridge, putting the visitors in front midway through the first half.
Dean Thomas doubled their lead eight minutes before the break when he headed home Howard Newton's corner.
However, it proved to be a nail-biting end to the match for the Middlesex men after the hosts pulled a goal back just after the hour.
But Staines' defence stood firm, and they held on for the three points.
The two wins means the Swans move up to fifth place, three points behind neighbours Ashford Town.
This Saturday, they visit Hornchurch before hosting Borehamwood three days later.
