CS stay clear at top despite draw

SOUTHERN AREA CHRISTIAN LEAGUE DIVISION TWO CS United of Staines................0 Molesey................0

Unbteaten CS United stayed top of the Southern Area Christian League Division Two despite being held to a goalless draw by Molesey on Saturday.

And it would've been worse for the table-toppers if the visitors hadn't blazed over a second-half spot kick.

CS's midfield of Colin Hare, Alby Quinn and Matt Bennett bossed the opening exchanges, and Jamie Gunning crashed a corner against the post.

Anthony Johnson somehow missed the target from close range, and Molesey almost made them pay after the break. However, they had veteran defender Peter Stephens and keeper Darren Armstrong to thank for keeping the visitors at bay as honours ended even.

Next up, CS face rivals St Paul's in the last four of the cup.
