St Paul's boys have a shot at Twickenham glory

TWO rugby teams from St Paul's Catholic College in Sunbury will be gunning for Twickenham glory on Saturday.

St Paul's have sides competing in both the year eight and year nine shields of the national HSBC Rugby Festival.

They will play a series of 10 minutes each way 10-a-side pool games at Staines RFC in Feltham Hill Road in the morning, starting at 9.30am. The winners of each category will then travel by bus to Twickenham to play the finals in front of a 50,000 crowd watching the annual Army v Navy match.

Some of the finals will be played before the 3pm main event, and the rest at half-time.

In the pool games, the St Paul's year eight side will be up against schools from Carlisle, Swimdon, Woodbridge, Wanstead, Winchester, Sleaford, Aldridge and Stockton, and the King's School Germany.

The year nines, meanwhile, will also take on teams from Woodbridge, the Isle of Wight, Manchester, Hinckley, Solihull, Northallerton and one more team yet to be confirmed.

Overseeing the games will be World Cup winner and HSBC rugby ambassador Jason Robinson, who will present the trophies to the eventual winners.
