Swans march on

RYMAN PREMIER Staines Town..............................2 Hastings United.........................0

Two goals in the last 20 minutes sealed a comfortable victory for Staines over Hastings last night.

After a goalless first-half, Marc Charles-Smith broke the deadlock in the 68th minute when he converted Andre Scarlett's cross.

Richard Butler then spurned a golden opportunity to double their lead minutes later when he hammered a penalty against the bar after Howard Newton was hauled down in the box by Kevin Rose.

But Steve Cordery's boys did get a second late on when Terry Payne bundled the ball into his own net from Scarlett's corner.

BEDFONT GREEN missed a last-gasp penalty as Egham Town held the Combined Counties Premier flyers 2-2 last night.

Charlie Muldowney fired the Sarnies in front before the visitors levelled.

Chris Henry put Bedfont ahead, but Jamie Houghton hit back soon after as it ended all-square.
