Staines Town leave it late again

RYMAN PREMIER Staines Town.........1 Harlow Town.......0

Danny Gordon's first goal for three years sealed another late victory for Staines last night.

The Swans skipper rose above the Harlow defence to head home the only goal of the game from Jon McDonald's long throw six minutes from time.

Staines started brightly, and had a golden opportunity to get their noses in front when they were awarded a 24th-minute penalty.

But Dave Sargent's kick was saved to keep the game goalless.

Harlow had the better of it after the break, but it was the hosts who created the clear-cut chances.

Howard Newton had a shot saved while Scott Taylor saw an effort cleared off the line before Gordon bagged a late winner.
